Antioxidant Rich, Low Fat, Dairy Free Breakfast Smoothie
I went to Mexico and stayed at an all inclusive resort with my family this year. Every morning for breakfast they had a smoothie bar where you could choose your ingredients from strawberries, pineapple, blueberries and endless choices of fruit and other ideas, and they would blend your smoothie right there in front of you.. This one became a standard favourite in our family. Here is a simple three ingredient breakfast smoothie recipe that is low in fat and high in antioxidants. If you focus on 'eating clean' this is the smoothie for you. It is a refreshingly simple way to start your day and appeals to adults and children alike. My teenage son adds whey protein to it to add extra protein to his meal. You can also add blueberries or strawberries if you prefer it. We use fresh berries in season and just add ice cubes to make it thick and frothy. When berries are out of season we use frozen fruit and it just adds more amazing to this recipe.
Most smoothie recipes call for dairy based products including milk and yogurt to give them their nutritional basis. People who are allergic to dairy will find this recipe easy to digest. You just will not believe how good it is!
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup of frozen raspberries
1 cup of orange juice
Blend all three ingredients in the blender and serve.
Simply great!

thanks I hope you try it.
I'm about to leave my computer and go try this smoothie. It sounds awesome and delicious. I may not use orange juice, but I'm on my way.
Thank you so much. Good hub.
Voted up and useful!
Hi Pixienot. I went to your profile and I want to read some of the posts as you seem well informed on fibromyalgia. I have a friend who would love to read your hubs too so I will send her the links. Thanks
